Process / Result, also known as Left / Right, is one of the 15 Reinin dichotomies.

• The process IM types are ILE, SEI, EIE, LSI, SEE, ILI, LSE, EII.
• The result IM types are ESE, LII, SLE, IEI, LIE, ESI, IEE, SLI.
• In four-letter code, process types are NTP SFP NFJ STJ and result types are SFJ NTJ STP NFP
• More succinctly, the process types are Democratic irrationals and Aristocratic rationals, and the result types are Democratic rationals and Aristocratic irrationals.

The use of plus and minus IM elements is not supported by all socionists. Many see them as being logically superfluous.

• Process IM types have a plus element in the base function.
• Result IM types have a minus element in the base function.

1. Prefer to finish the entire process till the end before doing something else.
2. Do things sequentially, from the beginning to the end.
3. Immersed to a process and tends to single-tasking.
4. Focus between the beginning and the end of processes.
5. More inclined to read texts on books or computer from beginning to the end.
6. Socially more inclined to large groups.

1. Use words such as "start", "end", "result" very quite often, and can have many things running in parallel and managing them quite ok.
2. Do things randomly, seemingly doing them from the end to the beginning.
3. Detached from processes and tends to multitasking.
4. Focus on the beginning and the end of processes.
5. More inclined to read texts on books or computer randomly, maybe reading random paragraphs or chapters.
6. Socially more inclined to small groups or intimate conversations.
