[edit] Logical Sensing Introtim (LSI)
[edit] For LSI
Sarkozy appears rather passive, but strong, calm, and methodical. He gets easily in anger when he deals with situations he doesn't like. Sarkozy is down-to-earth and pragmatic, likes to insist in concrete things. He's very planned and has no time to lose with unnecessary ideas, although he seems to have a distant idealistic aura.
On this video, [1], where Sarkozy is acting more "naturally", much of what he says is first person and/or consistency-based. He's clearly dominant.

[edit] Logical Intuitive Extratim (LIE)
[edit] For LIE
Journalists who have had the chance to observe him at close range often refer to his making the impression of being "hyper-active" and "energetic". LIEs, of EJ temperament, are among the types most likely to make such an impression.
In the video of the presidential debate with Ségolène Royal, Sarkozy's body language is nervous and energetic, non-stop, but his emotional expression is limited. This suggests both the EJ temperament and a low focus on . His style is to make his arguments by meticulous explanation rather than to-the-point statements which suggests a preference for . Of the two, Royal is the one more ready to interrupt the other; Sarkozy does not respond in kind but rather by arguing, "if you'll permit me, madam". He is not really intimidated by Royal's cutting interruptions and reacts to them, but by trying to be reasonable and clarify his points further rather than "rising to the challenge". This suggests a higher focus on than , while also having some confidence in the latter. Still, she's clearly more comfortable with maintaining an abrasive stance in the longer term than he is.
In the video of the third part of the presidential debate, he goes into a long exposition/rant on economics, as in "if you do this, then this will happen; then this, and then that, and then we'll have to do this", particularly when he gets a bit exasperated that he has to explain the "obvious"; that shows that is one of the functions he's confident in.
It can be argued that his recent interruption of an interview with 60 minutes, the moment the interviewer raised the subject of rumors about his divorce, suggest valuing of , with some concern for while not valuing it, and perhaps rationality: Sarkozy calmly interrupted the interview, without any explanation, but without showing any anger or any rudeness to the interviewer herself (whom he may have seen as merely doing her job), the moment the subject of his marriage was raised. By contrast, it is interesting to imagine how Bill Clinton might have handled that precise situation (or note how he has handled similar situations): either by making a joke out of it, or reacting in a low-intensity emotional way that would make most viewers feel that he was rightly annoyed. Sarkozy's reaction sends no clear signals at all, perhaps the source of the interviewer's loss at how to react. He was neither obviously offended, nor did he try to lighten up the atmosphere, as other politicians might have done.
By contrast, in a similar situation, when François Mitterrand equally interrupted an interview when a question regarding presidential bugs was raised, he dropped any attempt at sympathy and icily cut the interviewer off - a less "schizophrenic" use of , which at least leaves the interviewer aware of what is going on.
Most recently, he has attracted attention by his behavior of "flaunting" his relationship with Carla Bruni, an ex-model, almost immediately after his divorce; he has made a point of saying that he wants to move away from the "hypocrisy" of other French presidents who hid their private lives from the public. This behavior has struck most observers as over-the-top and a bit bizarre. One possible interpretation is that Sarkozy is emphasizing his super-id functions and perhaps but in a way that comes across as overdone.
[edit] Against LIE
He has been described by people who have observed him closely as an "emotional chameleon", able to adapt to the immediate audience, especially when on the campaign trail. That suggests a higher focus and confidence on than usual in a LIE.
Energetic tendencies may be sometimes demonstrated by introverts.
