For a more complete guide to MediaWiki editing in general, see m:Help:Contents.

To add text or edit a page in Wikisocion simply press the "edit" tab of the page or the "edit" link of the page section you would like to work on. Here you can type your text, adding a few codes here and there for internal and external links, images (especially the socionic symbols), and section headings. The software (Mediawiki) for Wikisocion relies on a simple, but unique set of codes that may take a little while to master. You can get by fine without them, however, by simply typing in your text. Someone more experienced is sure to come along and make the necessary modifications. To try out some of the wiki codes, use our sandbox.

For more extensive help than is available here, see the section at the bottom of the page.

[edit] Element symbols

Inserting an element symbol is a cinch! Just copy one of the codes to the right of the corresponding symbol below and paste it into the page you are editing:

•     : Ne or I
•     : Ni or T
•     : Se or F
•     : Si or S
•     : Te or P
•     : Ti or L
•     : Fe or E
•     : Fi or r (No, the lower-case 'r' is not a typo. For some reason, an upper-case 'R' does not produce the symbol. Attempts have been made to fix this.)

[edit] Common necessities

• italics: text
• boldface: text
• internal link: page name
• differing from the word in the text: text
• internal link to a section of a page: text
• external link: [url] or [url text]
• bulleted list: * at the beginning of each line
• numbered list: # at the beginning of each line
• section heading: == Title ==, adding another equals sign on each end for each subsection, subsubsection, etc.
• indent: : at the beginning of the paragraph to be indented. This is used in talk pages to indicate a response; each colon adds one level of indentation.
• redirect: type #REDIRECT new title at the beginning of the page
• to a section of a page: #REDIRECT new title#title of section
• table: see meta
• image: (for more see here)
• long dash (—): either or —
• block quote (indented on both sides): <blockquote>text</blockquote>
• "code" typeface (for examples of wiki markup): <code>text</code>

To post a link to your userpage and the current time (your "signature") after comments on talk pages, type ~~~~ after your comment or use the "signature" button (2nd from the right above the edit box)

[edit] Embedding Images

Images cannot be linked to from Wikisocion externally. To upload an image to wikisocion for reference in an article, use the Upload file tool. The syntax for image embedding is .
