Famous Sensing Ethical Introverts (SEI)

Valeria Golino

Italian actress
SEI (Mediator)
Валерия Голино

Comments:
I first suspected Golino was SEI after seeing her in Rain Man alongside Tom Cruise. There she had a characteristic pouty expression much of the time and was both down-to-earth and emotional. She was good both at showing dissatisfaction and irritation and at being caring and gentle (to Dustin Hoffman's character).

Golino is known as a sensual actress and is comfortable playing sensual roles and joking about it.

Interviews: (no videos available)
Here are some fairly short interviews with Golino: 1 - 2 - 3
If you read these you will see an orientation towards simplicity and naturalness (introverted sensing), emotionality (ethics, and clearly extraverted ethics based on her behavior in movies), as well as many sentiments characteristic of SEIs.

John Candy

Canadian comedian and actor
SEI (Mediator)
Джон Кэнди

Comments:
John Candy is sort of a more outwardly expressive version of John Goodman (SLI). Does voice modulations like Andy Kaufman (see end of video posted below).

Pedro Almodóvar

Spanish filmmaker
SEI (Mediator)
Педро Альмодовар

Comments:
Colorful, emotionally rich movies with lots of human drama and a focus on relationships.

Andy Kaufman

American entertainer
SEI (Mediator)
Энди Кауфман

Comments:
Creates an emotionally intimate atmosphere, as if the audience were his friends and family that he has invited home. Has a wide range of external emotional expression. His antics create a physically relaxing atmosphere that makes you laugh for no reason. His work is not 'conceptual' in nature, i.e. there is no "point" that he is trying to drive home to the audience. He simply wants you to relax and feel at home and have a good time. Has a pouting voice that is characteristic of many SEIs.

Discussion:

>> I'm just messaging you to know why you have placed Andy Kaufman as an SEI? If you see the movie where Jim Carrey stars, it becomes incredibly obvious that he is an IEE, our identical. A lot of his ideas were original and were very extraverted intuition. Creating alter egos is also something IEEs love to do when given the chance. He never really took extra care of his appearance as you can see, proving that he is not a sensor.

Just listen to these quotes:

"I never told a joke in my life." - IEEs tend to joke in a natural way.

"What's real? What's not? That's what I do in my act, test how other people deal with reality." - IEEs have their own twisted view of reality.

"I see the world as one big illusion". - That's IEE bundled up into one quote.

I don't agree with you on this one, after reviewing a couple of videos with him. I think the alter ego is more of a extraverted ethics thing. IEEs can do it for a while, but not as convincingly, and they are more serious at heart. Kaufman was almost never serious, even during rare interviews. He never had "weighty" insights and observations he needed to say in a serious voice; he was just having fun.

Kaufman to me is so typically SEI, I simply don't see any alternatives.

Yevgeniy Leonov

Soviet actor
SEI (Mediator)
Евгений Леонов

Comments:
Great Russian comic known for his natural, childlike style and joviality. A Soviet counterpart of Danny DeVito (see below).

Antoni Gaudí

Catalan architect
SEI (Mediator)
Антонио Гауди

Comments:
Student and improver of organic shapes and forms. Heavily ornamental works convey a philosophy of enjoyment and playfulness together with a rejection of functionalism as a guiding principle in architecture. Did much of his work under the financial patronage of close friend, enlightened and erudite industrialist Eusebi Güell (ILE by my estimation). A well-dressed dandy in his youth, he became increasingly reclusive and eccentric with age. Despite his fame, few people knew him personally, and there are very few pictures of him.

Danny DeVito

American actor and producer
SEI (Mediator)
Дэнни Де Вито

Comments:
Has a Russian look-alike — actor Yevgeniy Leonov (see above), recognized by socionists as an SEI. Wife Rhea Perlman seems to be a ILE.

Johnny Depp

American actor
SEI (Mediator)
Alternatives: IEI
Джонни Депп

Comments:
Likes exaggerated, highly stylized roles where he can play around and be crazy. In real life he seems to be reserved, cut off from Hollywood and the media hype, and like the simple things in life. Has a strong sense of style, but — in contrast to EIE's — this style is aesthetically and comfort-based rather than based on contrasts and non-natural colors, textures, and trinkets (actually, I'm mistaken — he actually seems to like trinkets a lot).

I considered SLI at one point, but his acting is simply too emotion-based. Also, in interviews and in public he freely shows his shyness and even exaggerates and plays off his own feelings of awkwardness — something that SLIs with their oversensitive extraverted ethics never do (instead, they remain calm and try not to send any signals about their emotional state).

Short interview with Rosie O'Donnel
Here, as in all interviews, Depp is soft-spoken, modest, gives one-word answers (a la Andy Warhol) and fishes for words, and pretty much just lets the host carry the conversation. This is a decisive argument against extraversion, as is his reputation for reclusiveness.
On Letterman: part 1 - part 2

Luciano Pavarotti

Italian singer
SEI (Mediator)
Лучиано Паваротти

George Lucas

American filmmaker
SEI (Mediator)
Джордж Лукас

Observations:
Cheery, calm, emotionally sensitive and expressive, but restrained. Light-hearted. "Softie" and "sweetie pie." Pays careful attention to his appearance. Well-developed sense of personal style.

Additional comments:
There's not too much personal info on George Lucas on the Internet (at least that I was able to find), but here is an interview with him where he discusses his life and achievements. Lucas seems to be a modest, middle-of-the-road guy who doesn't strike others as eccentric or wacky and hence draws less attention to his persona than other celebrities of his stature. Also, if you read his statements and interviews, you will find he is less 'cerebral' than Spielberg or Kubrick, makes virtually no sharp comments about anything, and emphasizes much more the importance of enjoying the simple things in life, keeping your head on straight, and finding fulfillment. When he talks he doesn't emphasize at all his own special talents or key discoveries, but tells how he did the right things and worked hard. Apparently he doesn't like to stand out much or draw unnecessary attention to himself. Long-time close friend of Steven Spielberg (ILE in my opinion).
