Observations from watching a presentation of David Deutsch on video:
Look as his expansive gestures and his continual inclusion of the crowd in his thinking process. He has this manner of "thinking out loud" and trying to get the audience to picture in his mind what he is picturing. Very un-LII. He's completely focused on the novelty of his own ideas, on mentally stimulating himself and the crowd, and on generating insight.
A typical trait are phrases like, "now let's just imagine...", said with a very intriguing intonation, followed by an unexpected, seemingly conflicting set of images that he resolves in an unusual way. He's searching for ways of looking at things that have potential — and all out loud. Very . It makes you feel as if you're participating in a mental expedition with an unknown finish. When LIIs speak on similar subjects, you get a different impression: "wow, this guy has fit everything together conceptually." For the ILE, the act of searching (i.e. simply trying to find new and better ways of looking at things) is more important than the destination itself (i.e. a structured conceptual system).

>> His book "The Fabric of Reality" is interesting for his type; the introduction can be seen as the case for preferring over , saying, basically, that it's impossible to know all the facts of the universe, and that's also unnecessary; far better and useful to understand how the universe works.

Absurd hairdo and dress (like Ayn Rand below). Devoted above all to her intellectual search and to discussing and developing ideas with colleagues and followers. Had no children. Fierce individualist and feminist. Had many naive, idealistic views about society. Could be harsh and uncompromising in intellectual settings.
[2/08: I'm hesitating about Rand's type after watching the interviews I listed below.]
Comments:
Interested in ideas above all else. Loved to discuss ideas with anyone and everyone, and to host group discussions. Fiercely individualistic and idealistic. Founded her own school of thought and actively lectured, interviewed, and discussed her ideas with others. A mental person who sacrificed the "joys of motherhood" for her intellectual self-realization. Videos:

Discussion:
There is some controversy surrounding Einstein's socionic type among western fans of socionics. Most Meyers-Briggs typologists type him as an INTP (or INTJ), while Russian and Ukrainian socionists virtually unanimously consider him ILE. It should be understood that the difference between ILE and ILI is not simply a matter of extraversion versus introversion. These types belong to opposing quadras, have completely different zones of suggestibility and life philosophies, and are drawn to opposing groups of people.
Einstein had a childlike naiveté that is foreign to pessimistic, skeptical ILIs. He didn't have the negativism, realism, and sardonic attitude typical of ILIs, but was very much a romantic bohemian, idealist, and believer in "goodness, beauty, and truth."
Einstein is known for his thought experiments and his ability to explain to explain the principles behind otherwise complicated phenomena. This is characteristic of ILEs (Hawking and Deutsch, for example) and differs from ILIs such as Charles Darwin who have a much more meticulous and plodding style, providing exhaustive examples when appropriate. Economic and financial mastermind. Has enjoyed a role similar to that of Soros. Was a follower of Ayn Rand's objectivist movement for many years.
Comments:
Too bad I can't find any younger pictures of Soros that would shed more light on him. Soros has become a sort of world ideological mastermind, planting seeds of critical thinking and democratic processes in countries around the world. He actively promotes his philosophical ideas in books and articles. This role as a mental mastermind who oversees unseen processes taking place around the world is a dream of many ILE's (including Osama bin Laden). In his book Soros on Soros he makes it clear that only ideas and concepts have any lasting meaning for him, and that he is a philosopher at heart with a well-articulated and logical personal philosophy that he has been developing over his lifetime — the basic principle of which is the idea of the acceptance of one's own fallibility.
Videos:
Interview on "The Bubble of American Supremacy" (interviewed, apparently, by an IEE)
- Soros emphasizes that giving money away and spending it to realize his ideas is more satisfying than making the money itself. He founded his fund when he had a personal fortune of only $20 million.
- Note that Soros (in this interview and others) is not passionate about business and making money, but is passionate about his ideas and about geopolitics. His ideas have a "weighty" feel and he raises fundamental issues about the nature of statehood and government.
Observations:
Relaxed, detached gaze with eyes that light up when excited about something. Not emotionally expressive — same smile or emotionless face everywhere. Good-natured, upbeat, and personable but distant. Unconcerned with appearances. Thoughtful and concentrated, perhaps visionary. Focused on conveying ideas. Doesn't seem to age at all, but remains child-like and excited about life.
Additional comments:
Spielberg is an artistic mastermind. He enjoys his role as creator and organizer of one of the most complex art forms available — movies. His films always center around one idea or situation that he effectively conveys to the masses. He has a strong preference for science fiction, and also for historical movies based on true and fascinating stories. His generally optimistic, often naive and idealistic, movies are usually about people who find themselves caught up in extraordinary circumstances or pivotal events. His movies focus on events in the outside world rather than on the subtleties of characters' inner worlds. They rarely dwell on opening up characters emotional lives or on base human drives such as power, money, sex, etc. These aspects are usually treated one-dimensionally. Instead, his movies often focus on feelings of fascination, wonder, and the understanding of one's personal responsibility for events. Long-time close friend of George Lucas (SEI in my opinion).
