Comments:
Conveys a sense of moral duty and responsibility for the people around him, as well as a sort of "bad boy" persona. He seems somewhat restrained in most of his photos and lacks the carefreeness and spontaneity of SEEs.

Comments:
Has a strong moral conscience, and his satiric pieces and interviews demonstrate a concern with the country's spiritual welfare and development.

Witherspoon is calm, modest, and attentive.
Discussion:
>> About Reese Withersppon. I see you typed her as ESI. I'd say she is most definetely EIE/Actor, as to me she is quite obvious Fe dominant.

I think this interview is more informative, since she's not acting. Here she seems down-to-earth and calm — not dramatic in her expression at all. |
Comments:
Usually has a restrained smile. Macho persona.

Lengthy John Travolta interview (excellent)
- Note that Travolta is a calm, soft, modest, and nice guy.
Comments:
Tenacious, sentimental, somewhat self-debasing, moralistic, and good at in-fighting. Cautious and careful not to divulge important information. Often self-conscious and ill at ease. Considered himself an "introvert in an extravert profession" [source]. Had an "introspective and brooding personality" [source]. This second paper, called Personality and Presidential Leadership Explored: President Nixon and the Family Assistance Plan is a great source of information on Nixon's personality, leadership and thinking style, and decision making process.
For a shorter summary, I recommend reading this summary of the Book Richard Nixon: The Shaping of His Character. Here, using the Big 5 personality traits, the author shows that Nixon had low extraversion, low agreeableness, high conscientiousness, high neuroticism, and low openness to experience.
I have no doubts as to Nixon's socionic introversion, as his tendency towards brooding isolation is such a major feature of his personality. He limited his external contacts with Congress, preferring instead to communicate through aides. His decision making process was slow and plodding, and he would cut off his contacts and pore over existing information for days rather than try to find solutions through information gathering and discussion with associates.
Discussion:
>> Have you considered the possibility that Nixon might have been a LSI? I personally agree with your analysis of Nixon as an introvert who demonstrates weak Ne and it is refreshing to see this especially as I have seen the misguided conception of Nixon as a LIE being perpetuated; however, I have difficulty fathoming how he might have exemplified Fi. Both his Presidential legacy and his private relationships seem to suggest that Fi was to a large extent repressed.
As mundane as it sounds, Nixon's face isn't hard or cold enough to be an LSI, in my opinion. Also, so many of his famous quotes seem to have an ethical twinge; he talks about his personal feelings quite a bit. Logical types generally avoid this. |
