Has created a sort of mythological (savior?) figure out of himself through his unearthly dress, androgynous appearance, and eccentric lifestyle. He revels in the adoration of friends, fans, and surrounds himself with worshipping children. He avoids "coming down to earth" in any way and prefers to remain exalted and clouded in enigma and immune to aging and all that is mundane and trivial. Jackson's excessive (in my opinion) need for adoration, self-worship, and a godly mistique is similar to that of Hitler.
I'm not the only one to have noticed parallels between Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury. Here is an essay comparing the two.
Comments:
Flamboyant, extravagant, charismatic, brooding.
His voice had great emotional power. The wacky costumes and prancing around onstage are typical of EIE performers. Also, his voice had a thin, piercing quality as opposed to, say, the thicker, sexier voices of SEEs. Although he relished in the adoration of the crowd, his off-stage personality was actually quite restrained. He was also known for being sensitive, easily impressionable, and often suspicious and paranoid. Had an awkward smile because of extra teeth in his top row, and added a moustache to help conceal it.

Comments:
Highly stylized and aristocratic (some would say "arrogant"). Extremely popular and reknowned in the Soviet Union, even by Communist leaders. Did satires, impersonations, and monologues.
Comments:
Extremely imaginative artist whose eccentric and theatrical antics often overshadowed his work. Was always doing unusual things to draw attention. He liked to put on airs for photographs and play up his inflated self-importance. An active public figure, Dalí enjoyed gaining new audiences and meeting new people and expanding his personal influence and cultural authority. His works dwell on the subconscious (dreams, altered states of conciousness, and unconscious forces) and on primal experiences such as pain, sex, and death.
Comments:
Quite effeminite. Tons of emotional energy and flair. Likes to dress up crazy. Huge mouth (like Mick Jagger!).
Comments:
High-strung and abrubt. Very good at drama.
Comments:
Always acting. Always creating an impression. Always dramatic and creative and a bit dark.
Observations:
Can be jolly when he isn't posing. Melodramatic, with a large range of carefully crafted personas. Plays to the audience and demands attention. Narcissistic. Has a harsh, critical edge and a biting tongue. Appears both effeminate and strongly masculine at times. Possesses flair and pomp.
Additional comments:
Bono (aka Paul Hewson) is the extravagant singer of U2, a remarkably stable rock group that has been together for nearly 30 years — ever since high school. In addition, he is a family man with four kids, a Christian, and is married to his high-school sweetheart. He is one of the most emotional rock singers ever, constantly modulating his voice's tembre, volume, and pitch and adding other vocal effects to "wrench" and engage listeners. It seems like he puts himself completely into his singing. Bono loves to create gaudy stage personas and to attract attention to himself. At the same time, his songs are full of longing for romantic ideals and a perfect world, and also of disillusionment with this world that is so far from all ideals. U2's songs, while often bouncy and energetic, just as often have a dark feel. Bono likes to preach about world politics during concerts. In fact, outside of music he is one of the most active advocates of causes such as fighting AIDS and poverty in Africa and changing 1st world economic policies to improve the lot of the 3rd world. Bono is an incredibly ardent, knowledgeable, and effective advocate of these causes and is constantly meeting with presidents and prime ministers to get them to take concrete measures. He has allegedly been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. His persistent, utter devotion to these causes wins him admiration among politicians of the highest level, even when he meets with them in jeans and sunglasses and, if necessary, threatens to use his band's clout to defame self-interested politicians.

Discussion:
>> It just struck me that Bono looks a LOT like Robin Williams in the pictures you posted... Any chance of the two being the same type?
Well, I am convinced they both have extraverted ethics as their leading function, so they're pretty close! Both are dramatic and constantly change their external expression. But there are differences. Williams does this all to create fun and happiness, while Bono is a serious chap who is trying to make a more abstract point with his antics.
>> I don't know much about their personal lives, I was just pointing out from an outsider's perspective that they looked VERY alike. Does the difference between EIE and ESE really just come down to what you described, though? For instance, what of quadra theory? Is it possible the two are in the same quadra? Does Robin strike you as Alpha and Bono as Beta? (Further: how does Bono strike you as Beta? I could see Robin as Alpha more easily than Bono as Beta, but again I'm not an expert on either.
No, of course there are many other differences, but that was the most obvious thing to differentiate between their Si and Ni. If you look at their photos, Bono is more distant and brooding, while Williams is more friendly and welcoming. Everyone knows Williams as a "really fun guy who will cheer you up" -- a typical public attitude towards an ESE. Bono is harsher and likes to talk about uncomfortable things and challenge people; he also cultivates a "bad boy" image -- typical EIE traits. These are also values of their respective quadras. Plus, most of Bono's band members are also Beta types, in my opinion (I actually suspect they form a complete quadra).
